Jack graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in 1974 where he
received a BFA in Music Education. His major instrumental studies were on
trombone under the guidance of Donald Haack of the Milwaukee Symphony. In 1971,
he enlisted in the United States Army Reserve and was assigned to the 84th
Division Band in Milwaukee where he stayed until December of 1997. His duties
there included Principal Conductor, "Railsplitter" Dance Band Leader, and
Principal Trombonist. In January of 1998, Jack enlisted in the 132nd Army Band,
Wisconsin National Guard. He holds the rank of Sergeant First Class and is
currently the assistant director of "Patriot Jazz", the band's jazz ensemble,
on occasion directs the concert band, and is the trombone section leader.
When he is not performing, Jack is a Promotional Consultant for
The Geckler Companies, Inc., where he works with schools and other
non-profit organizations with their fundraising activities. Jack lives in
Dousman, Wisconsin with his wife Karen. He has two daughters, Jessica and
Brooke, and four grandchildren, Lauryn, Jacob, Jackson and Mason.
