Bruce began his life in music at the age of seven when he started piano
lessons. He switched to French Horn at the age of twelve and participated in
Band and orchestra programs in Rochester, NY throughout High School. He
attended the Eastman School of Music and received a BA in music from the
University of Rochester and then a Masters in Performance from Ithaca College.
After graduation he freelanced on the horn, was a substitute music teacher and
began working at Onondaga Music as a file clerk. This was the beginning of his
lifelong relationship in the print music industry. He worked in print music
retail for twenty-five years (including four years on the RPMDA board) and in
October of 2000 began his new career in sales and marketing in educational
music with the Hal Leonard Corp.
